The increase in the circulation of blood throughout your body will cause you to sweat more and your vaginal secretions will also increase.
It is therefore advisable to bathe daily (but never to douche) and to wear, whenever possible, lightweight natural fibres, which wont irritate your skin or cause you to feel hot and restricted.
Even in cold weather you will be astonished at how warm you feel, so wear fewer and lighter clothes than usual for your comfort.
Being pregnant is nothing to be ashamed of, and fashion designers have increasingly been producing maternity clothes that accenuate your bump attractively, using fashionable colours and flattering

and comfortable fabrics. These can be worn right through your pregnancy to the birth, and beyond.
Bear in mind however, that your bust size will increase so figure-hugging tops may no longer fit comfortably. Also, avoid any garments that have a tight waistband or belt or fit closely around the thighs or crotch.
Most women find that up to the fifth or sixth month they can get away with wearing their ordinary clothes, sometimes with a safety pin or a piece of Velcro to help the waistbands meet. Any garments with a drawstring or an elasticated waist can be adapted as your abdomen swells.
It's a wonderful boost to your morale to invest in one or two really smart or glamorous outfits. So that you have several months to enjoy them, don't wait until your pregnancy is too advanced before going out shopping.
Remember that you don't have to buy maternity clothes. Form the standard dress racks you should be able to find fashionable clothes to wear. |
